NIGHTSTOP HOSTS URGENTLY NEEDED
Do you have a spare bedroom in your house or flat that is only occasionally occupied? Would you be interested in participating in a new local initiative that aims to reduce youth homelessness in Brighton & Hove?When a young person loses their accommodation it can lead to breakdown in many areas of their life including relationships, education and employment. You could make a difference to young people by offering a safe alternative to emergency accommodation or homelessness.

Volunteer Shop Assistant
Give some time to one of our shops and help raise money vital to the
running of our projects. You could work in a variety of different shops -
clothing and bric-a-brac, furniture or electrical.
SPORTS
Y-Club DJ Volunteers @ Y Centre (Marmion Road)
Do you have digital music skills and experience? Get involved in the Y-Club and share them with children with moderate learning difficulties. We have all the equipment, we just need the skilled person! Come and help in the Saturday or Wednesday club and gain experience of working with children and young people with moderate learning difficulties.

ADVICE
Youth Advice Centre Assistant @ YAC, Blatchington Road
Gain experience of how the youth advice centre works. We need support with getting feedback from young people, designing notice boards and quizzes, organizing service user groups and administration tasks. There would also be opportunities to cover advice worker shifts in the drop-in doing direct advice work with young people. You will be working with the YAC Manager and adhere to our confidentiality policies. Flexible hours available. A full day a week (or similar number of hours) preferred as a minimum, and could be up to 4 days a week.

HOUSING
Housing Recreational Activities Volunteers @ Housing projects
Could you run activities for young people in our supported housing projects? We’re looking for motivated volunteers to help put on games nights, assist in sports activities or any other nights for the young residents. You will be supported by staff workers, flexible evening hours available.

COUNSELLING
Volunteer Honorary Counsellors
If you are on a Diploma level (or similar) training course or a qualified counsellor wishing to work towards accreditation, you can apply for a counseling placement with us. Placements can be in the Community, Primary or Secondary School setting working with 5-25 year olds.
