Mid Sussex Schools Sports Partnership

Mid Sussex YMCA offers services in all 22 primary schools across the Mid Sussex area in partnership with Mid Sussex Schools Sports Partnership. We deliver and specialise in three main areas:

Little Uns: working with mainly Key Stage 1 children on multi skills, from SAQ to agility, balance, and co-ordination. Taught in a fun way with Music and lots of fun games

Play Leaders: Working mainly with Key Stage 2 pupils this 10 week course gives the children the skills and the confidence to teach their peers and younger children how to play effectively. as well as giving support at lunchtimes and to mid day supervisors. The course has been linked into schools' “buddy” systems, and gives most benefit to those children who suffer with low confidence, & self esteem

DIY (Do It Yourself): DIY is a project for all children but especially those who do not want to participate in team games and specifically looks at sports that has a one on one element or you can do on your own i.e. golf, table tennis, martial arts etc. We have been doing DIY sessions in SAQ (Speed, Aquility, Quickness), athletics, dance, and trampolining so that there is a broad range of activities that pupils can pick up and relate to

For more information or if you would like us to deliver any of these services at your school or community group please contact sport.midsussex@hoveymca.org.uk or call on (01444) 233366.
