Volunteer Celebration Event

Hove YMCA held its first Volunteer Celebration Event in March to thank volunteers for their amazing contributions to its services. Volunteers were invited from across the organisation for a lunch at the Joogleberry Café for a chance to socialise and share with their colleagues.

Hove YMCA Chief Executive David Standing was on hand to thank volunteers for their time, energy and efforts. All our Volunteers were then presented with a specially designed Hove YMCA plaque as a small gesture of thanks.

To celebrate the extraordinary work of the volunteers, the DVD , “Why would you want to volunteer?” was premiered. This film was produced by Hove YMCA volunteers as part of the Global Xchange programme to present all the different ways volunteers contribute to Hove YMCA's work. The afternoon was rounded off by one of the young volunteer DJs who played a set of his own music.Lunch Club VolunteersLunch Club Volunteers

The event reflected the variety of people who help Hove YMCA services from all ages and backgrounds and was a great success. It was made possible through funding from V project and two volunteers from the Event Management course at Brighton University. It is hoped this will become an annual event in our continued effort to celebrate Hove YMCA volunteers!
